Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must start Fall 2026 as a full-time student as one of the following:
- a graduating high school senior starting at a four-year university or college;
- a community college student transferring to a four-year university or college;
- a first-time community college student; or
- an undergraduate student currently enrolled and attending a four-year university or college.
- a graduating high school senior starting at a four-year university or college;
- Have maintained an overall 3.0 grade point average.
- Be a student residing or attending school in California, specifically, the San Fernando, Santa Clarita or Simi Valleys.
- Not be a relative of a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®
- If accepted as a recipient of the scholarship, student must submit verification of Fall 2026 full-time enrollment.
Items Needed in Order to Submit an Application:
- Completed and signed application (applicant and parents’ signatures required)
- Official/Unofficial transcript(s)
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation speaking to accomplishments in the following areas: Academic Achievement, Community Service, and Extracurricular Activities and/or Employment Experience (Sealed, signed, and dated or sent directly to [email protected])
- Essay (see essay prompt within application)
- A recent photo (attached or emailed)
Sigma Lambda Omega provides scholarships to deserving college-bound students.

Students must reside in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley or Simi Valley areas. |
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships Scholarships are the primary means by which EAF carries out its mission. The Foundation awards Merit, Financial Need and Youth Partners Accessing Capital (P.A.C.) scholarships. |
